The first step towards beauty and skin care is identifying what type of skin you have. Is it too oily and acne prone? Or is it too rough and dry? Are you lucky enough to have normal skin or do you have a combination of both oily and dry skin? You can visit a dermatologist who can help you determine your skin type. Or, you can use a tissue to determine your skin type. Wipe your face with a tissue first thing after you wake up in the morning. If the tissue has absorbed oil, then you have oily skin, if not, then you have dry skin. If you have combination skin type only your T-zone would be oily. Once you have the answers to these questions, you can start with your beauty regime.

Cleansing, toning and moisturising are the most important components of any beauty regime. If you have oily skin, then you should apply astringent to close your pores. This should be done thrice a week. Those who have dry skin should invest in a good quality moisturiser to keep their skin smooth and supple. If you work outdoors a lot, then a sunscreen with high SPF is a must-have for you. Wash your face at least twice a day, especially, if you have been out in the sun for long.

Oily and greasy food clogs up your system and in turn, your skin. Say goodbye to oily food and stock your fridge with fresh veggies. Olive oil, fish particularly salmon, carrots and green tea are the secret to healthy skin. Incorporate them into your diet and you will be amazed with the results.
